Bubbles in urine?

I am terrified that I have something wrong with me. For the past few days or so, I have been experiencing bubbles in my urine. I noticed the change andthought nothing of it till I realized it's happening nearly every time I urinate. I googled what it could mean and of course I get stuff back saying it's protein in my urine and that could be the beginning of kidney failure. As far as I can tell, I have no other symptoms. There's no change in my urine color, it's light yellow because I mainly drink water. Only time it's darker is usually in the morning when I first go to the bathroom for the day. I don't wake up in the middle of the night to urinate, as some people have said they do, I have no flank pain....no fever...no loss of appetite, etc. The only thing Im noticing is the bubbles every time I urinate, and we're not talking foam....just little patches of tiny bubbles that form on the surface of my urine. Sometimes there'll be more or less. And I have also noticed that occasionally what feels like "air bubbles" will escape from my urethra (that's what it feels like, anyway) when I'm walking or even when I move in my chair. It's the weirdest feeling I've ever experienced and everyone I've told looks at me like Im nuts when I say that.

I have been scared to take a urine sample to my Dr. for fear that he will tell me there IS protein and my kidneys are failing. I do not have insurance currently and this is stressing me out more than I can begin to tell you. Please help.

  • It could be a diverticula fistula or UTI.

  • By all means get it investigated but don,t panic.Just be glad that you don,t have my symptoms. Intermittent hematuria, itching, rashes, hives and other weird symptoms.I will be voiding and all of a sudden my skin will burn or I will have some itching outbreak.I don,t think your story is strange I think you might just have too much anxiety pertaining to urination. Good luck.

  • I hope you found the answer because I can relate to the weirdness of it, and yes I too have had that weird sensation of an airbubble escaping, even when I am not urinating. (Like you said ... just moving around or walking) It isn't frequent but it is still weird for me when it happens. I haven't had any pain or other symptoms but it is hard to talk about without people giving you a look like you are nuts. I have had a few tests for UTI and it always comes back clear. I am not sexually active, and other than gallstones (my gallbladder will be out in 2 weeks) I don't have any other serious medical problems.
