I had a hysterectomy on Tuesday, October 13th. Yesterday, I went to my doctor to get my staples removed. I told her that my stomach hurts when I pee. First thing in the morning, it hurt from beginning to end. Throughout the day, my stomach only hurt nearning the end of the stream. Plus I've been peeing a lot and a lot comes out. My doctor told it I might have a UTI and she ordered a urine sample.

I just talked to the nurse at my doctor's office. She said I don't have a UTI but there was a trace of blood in my urine (not to the naked eye). She said it's common for that to happen. She also told me that it's possible I did have an infection that cleared up on it's own. She also told me something about my urethra having an infection or blood. I can't remember what she said about that.

She told me to drink plenty of water to flush it out and it should clear up on it's own.

I'm going back to my doctor on Monday and even if I don't have pain anymore, I'm asking for another urine test. Blood in the urine scares me.

Anyone know if it's common to have a trace of blood in the urine after surgery?

Thank you,
