I have been experiencing what may or may not be a bladder infection for about 9 days now. I went to my Doctor a week ago and he perscribed Levaquin 750 mg for three days. On the fourth day, I called him and told him it didn't seem to be improving and he perscribed three more days of the Levaquin. It still didn't help and I went back today to give them a second urine sample. Today is Friday and they will not have the results until Monday. I fluctuate between having mild discomfort to some pain when I need to urinate or move my bowels. When the pain is worse, I can feel it up through my left ureter.
I had a kidney stone in my right kidney three years ago and it felt just like this except that I also had terrible intermitent pain in my lower left back. It took two months to diagnose and when it was, they had to surgically remove it. I haven't had the back pain this time, though.
Do you think it is just a UTI? Wouldn't the Levaquin have cleared that up? I am very concerned.
