after a meal of mexican food, my whole tongue swelled up. it affected my speech and made it VERY painful to swallow. i had a bad headache too. Went to a doctor who put me on steroids to reduce the swelling and antihistamines. After about a day, the swelling started to go down, which made the pain go away too eventually.
I have never had food allergies. But now, it has happened several more times but with a ridge down my tongue or a big lump on one side. This was NOT after Mexican food. It's like parts of my tongue inflate and then deflate.
I have tested negative for all the foods the doctor could test for.
Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this? Thanks
