Hi my name is Jess and i am 24,

Just wanting to know if i may have problems with my thyroid... As i am convinced i do...
For the past 3 months i have experienced
-low libido
-mood changes
-depression...i cry nearly everyday for no reason
- i also have high cholesterol..its 6.0 apparently suppose to be 5.5 and under.
-menstrual cycle is up and down
-memory loss, i forget things like milk and bread even though my bf told me in the morning to get it, i constantly need to be reminded throughout the day...
-concentration problems
I went and had my TSH checked and found it to be in the normal range 0.8(normal range 0.4-4.0)

Should i get a second opinion???
My relationship is really suffering...

  • I had normal TSH levels for years and was told my thyroid was healthy. Years later, a neurologist screened me for Hashimoto's encephalopathy, a rare complication of the autoimmune thyroiditis, by checking my thyroid antibodies. They were highly positive and then they did an ultrasound of my gland and found it was full of nodules. So, TSH doesn't tell you everything. Antibodies and ultrasound may be worth looking into as well. I had many of your symptoms, but they are of course non-specific.Best Wishes.
