I've recently found out that I have hypothyroidism. My main complaint was weight gain...I've gained gradually at first then in 3 months I gained 30 pounds. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this happen??

Just learning.....

  • Most people with hypothroidism will have a problem with weight gain. When your hypoT your metabolic rate slows right down which means that your body is going into a type of hibernation. Your body cannot use the calories you eat and I have heard of people taking only 300 calories a day and still gained weight. You need to get your medication right before thinking of losing weight. Once that is right for you then you can start to raise your metabolic rate with exercise. A little exercise each day will start to raise your metabolic rate. Also avoid soya products as they damage your thyroid. loveBrigsxx
