Thyroid Treatment Problems

I was treated in December of 2005 for hyperthyroid with radioactive iodine. During the course of synthroid treatment I started to experience pressure in my chest. I had a stress test, was tested for acid reflux and anxiety symptoms - everything was negative. Once I reached a stable dose of synthroid, the pressure disappeared. About 8 mos. later I was told that I was again hyperthyroid and my synthroid was lowered. As soon as that happened, the pressure started again. The endo does not think it's related, which is quite frustrating. In addition, my hair is thinning rather rapidly. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions?I'm surprised they did a stress test without first doing a echocardiogram and therefore not knowing what they're dealing with. Heart complications are common with thyroid disease.Unfortunately it's very common for those treated for hyperthyroid to go up and down with symptoms fluctuating between hyper and hypo symptoms before they have stabilized thyroid levels. Different things can affect thyroid too such as time of year, diet, stress, etc. So maybe your thyroid medication was okay until you encountered a stressor. Many people need more thyroid during the winter and less in the other months.A great book on the subject isThe Thyroid Solutionhttp://thyroidhost.proboards30.com/Is a great website for support and asking questions about your condition. Lot's of experience there.
