My mother is 72 years old and has been on Synthroid for a thyroid condition for 10 years. In the past couple of years, her behaviot has changed. She has become paranoid, hostile and depressed. She has an appointment for a through physical in a couple of days. Are there more extensive tests for thyroid function that we should request? Should we ask for a referal to an endocrinologist? I fear that she may be experincing some type of dementia, but don't want to unknowingly neglect any physical cause for her symptoms. Please help!Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
