I am the mother of a 16 year old girl that just got diagn. With underactive thyroid. My first question is how common is this in teenaged girls. I have not been diagn. With it yet, but my mother and grandmother have it. The next part is, she has been having severe pains in her lower legs with raised bumps on her lower legs. I dont know if anyone else has experienced this or not, but the doctors so far cant find anything. If anybody has any information please, please pass it on to me.
