I have been taking t3 for about 2 months now and have just got results of new blood tests can anyone advise if it is normal for TSH FT4 to drop

TSH 0.06 range 0.5-4.5
FT4 7.7 range 10.20
FT3 5.2 range 3.5-6.0

New to all of this and doctor does not tell me much. I also have red cell folate deficiency still going down. Vitamin b12 & d Deficiencies but are now heading into normal ranges with strong supplementation.

Drop in TSH has me concerned as also have enlarged thyroid with multiple nodules. Is this normal with T3 supplementation??????

Looking forward to hearing from you and thanks in advance for any help received

  • you dont describe any new symptoms. are you feeling the same. your tsh looks like hyperthyroid. in the beginning thyroid disease can jump around. i was hypo then turned hyper. i havent had blood drawn for about a month so i dont know my current status. i dont know why docs wont discuss labs better. good luck

  • Your TSH is low, but your fT3 looks good, and that number is the most important. Your T4 is likely dropping because of the T3 supplementation. I'm not sure what you are saying your reference range is on your fT4.Your TSH is just the juice from the pituitary gland that is meant to tell your thyroid how much hormone to excrete. It is dropping because you are getting hormone another way (supplementation). If you were saying that your ref. range for fT4 is 10-20, and it is below 10, perhaps it is time for you to take a complete supplement that contains T4 as well. Are you getting antibody tests? Have you been diagnosed with Hashimoto's? good luck!
