I was just wondering....I am assumming that once every 6 months is normal. My Dr. did the 6 month and it was off, he adjusted the meds and retested again in one month.....la dee dah, now this is the third month of testing. What is the big deal if it is off a little...we can adjust it in 6 months. I have had hypothyroidism for 5 yrs and never had a symtom before or after diagnosis. He called me one day and said my levels were way off the chart. OK...but now checking every month?

How often are you checked?
thanks in advance

  • I get checked every month, my doctor is just being proactive because of my high levels. Once they are where they are suppose to be at, he is only going to check every 6months. So maybe your levels were making him think to watch you closer then the norm.

  • I get checked anywhere from every week to every two months, depending on my doctor's intuition and on whether I've been exhibiting any symptoms that suggest the need for a change in medication dosage.
