I have been reading this forum for almost a year and have learned a lot from everyone. I will make my story short and sweet but I do need advise please.
Diagnosed with hashimotos in September 06
Diagnosed with graves disease in July 07
Received RAI ( radioactive iodine pill ) on June 25th, 07
I am starting to feel better but I am not "cured" yet.
My blood tests this week were
My endo wants to start me on the lowest dose possible of Synthroid ( or generic Levoxyl )
I feel I am not ready for this medication yet...I am still having symptoms of hyperactivity
Difficulty with climbing stairs, still become short of breath and legs feel weak
Some heart palpatations ( but less than before RAI )
I ZOOM around most of the day but pooped out by 8pm
Some memory concentration still
Lump in throat is much better but sides of neck are still a bit swollen
I can only work about 4-5 hours at my job and I am tired
The radiologist that administered the RAI pill told me on July 25th that I would most likely be in the hyper stage until around the second week of September and everything he has told me is holding true.
I have always been a "hyper-type" person with a fast metabolism, my father had hashiomotos and surgery removal of the thyroid, family history of diabetes too.
Does it sound like I am ready to begin replacement therapy?
