.hi im emmarene. a few years back i tried to donate blood and got rejected due to anmeia. i didnt believe them but eventually i was so sick i went to the doc. blood tests came back; yes i had anemia but i also had hypo thy. she said my worst symptoms came from the thy not the anemia. started on synthroid and felt good. i also have a mental illness but more about that later. i went in for regular checks and thyroid was fine. in the mean time i lost a lot of weight, feel shortness of breath a pain in my middle cheast, i call a "stitch" frequently feel like im being suffocated. to make me happy my doc had me do cheast x-ray and an ultra sound sound of gall bladder and liver, or was it spleen? everything was ok so that confirmmed her opinon that my remainig symptoms were mental and i should talk to my psych doc. some of those symptoms did go away but i have an extreme startle response and i tremble. some times it feels like my insides are vibrating...due to my mental illness i became phobic about the clinic and wouldnt go in. my synthroid ran out but i found another way to get it. nuf sed. a year passed since i had the phobia about that building. the psych is in a different building so i could still see him. hadnt had blood done for a year. my mental condition improved so i forced myself to go to the clinic for blood work. this morning i overslept and missed my follow up appt. about an hour later i got a call from the doc. of course i need a resched but in the mean time she said stop taking the synthroid because i am no longer hypothyroid. my tsh was very low. I had been told hypothyroid would be a life long condition. now its just gone. since this whole thing started i have lost a lot of weight, look gaunt, sometimes people describe me as "gray". does hypothyroidism reallly cure itself. what the ***l is wrong with me and has this happened to any one else. i dont think it was a wrong diagnosis i saw the labs and showed my psych and he agreed. sorry so long but i am astounded. please say anything.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
