hi
my so 14 suffers insomnia due to aspergers syndrome and is currently take melatonin,(he also has asthma) his doc swears theres no side affects yet during school holidays when he doesnt take them he has no asthma symptoms at all and then as soon as he starts back his asthma flares up all again....,does anybody no anything about this..i know he needs the melatonin but he dont need the asthma...

  • This doesn't sound like it's really a sleep problem. I suggest that you post your question on the boards for asthma and Endocrine problems, since melatonin is an endocrine hormone.

Asthma is also an allergy.Take him to a NAET practitioner who is experienced with the food related autism treatment.Even if they tell you that his Aparenger is not allergy related, they can do brain coaching and tell you what is causing the asthma. Also they can make sure his medicine does not give him side effects by doing treatment on him.NAET cures autism, add, adhd, and other behavioral/cognitive conditions.Please look into it.Take Care.
