I've noticed that no matter how much sleep I get I still feel groggy in the early morning and am tired throughout the day when I have to get up say around 6 vs when I get up later. Why is this?

  • Are you a teen ager or there abouts in age? They have done a study that shows teens are biologically nightowls and late risers. When they get to go to school an hour later their grades and mood improves a great deal. If you aren't a teen, well it just might be your natural rhythem.

  • Not a teen...I'm 37.A few years ago I used to be able to get up at like 5 and it wasn't as bad...maybe because my job at the time was overstimulating. I did notice I was way more stressed at that job though, maybe b/c I had to get up at 5!I just notice I'm more relaxed the later I get up,but how many jobs start that late?...

  • The only jobs that start late are the ones that don't pay well, as far as I know. I am tired all the time no matter when I get up, but the later I get up the better I function. Unfortunately, this doesn't fit with having a child and a pet to take care of, so I fight the urge to stay up til 5am and get up at noon. I read somewhere on the internet if you have fatigue alone that is enough reason to go to the doctor to get it checked out. But, if you aren't as tired when you get up later it sounds like a natural rythm, either way doesn't sound like a doctor's advice could hurt.

Then I guess I'm quite the mess then b/c I'm tired alot plus who knows what else... The other thing I noticed is I seem to be sleeping longer, before I used to get by on about 7.5 hours now I wake up at 9 hours.
