I have a 21 month old son. He's been diagnosed with acid reflux and is on Zantac. He has NEVER slept completely through the night. It started out with him coming into our bed when he was sick. Now he wakes up several times a night and is INSISTENT that I bring him out to the couch and hold him, then he falls back asleep on the couch, i cannot get him back into his bed or ours for that matter. 9 times out of 10 he ends up on the floor. I've talked to his dr and i have an appointment thurs. The dr says he thinks it may be infantile colic? I dont understand that at all. He did not have colic when he was a baby and i cant find any articles on the internet that talk about colic past the age of 4 months. Has anyone had any experiences like this? Ever heard of this?

  • My son is two and and he has several food intolerances. He has a problem with the way his body uses the food. It does not show up as a food allergy. My son's attitude and personality change if he eats the food he can not have to the point that I can't stand him. I have an older son and he does have a problem with eggs and dairy but never became hyper, wouldn't sleep, or was moody. My younger son, they told me he had colic until he was 14 months and I figured it out. Might think I am weird but I was at the end of my rope and took him to a homeopath doctor. My son can't have dairy, eggs, grains, or soy. Most importantly he is the worst with corn syrup. Try reading some labels and cutting out the corn syrup and maybe some or all of the others and see if you have a different child. You should notice a difference in a week and a half. That is commonly how long it takes to notice a difference with anyone having a food reaction. Also if you notice that your child has a runny nose, dark circles under their eyes or red cheeks these can also be signs of a food problem. My son did not sleep EVER until I changed his diet and now he mainly eats fruits, vegi's and meats and some things from the health food store but I don't really give him anything processed either. I have a completely new and well behaved two year old. If he gets something he should not eat though he his terrible to deal with for about a week. I hope this helps and also note that any child with these problems should out grow them after their bodies have had a chance to grow and heal without the problem foods in their diet.
