What the heck is this? Molluscum? (pic included)

I had sex with a girl and about a week later I noticed these 'pimples' on the base of my penis and very lower abdomen. There are a few on the underside of my shaft as well. My last sex before her was with my GF about 4 months previously.

They are a bit hard to the touch, and I've taken a very detailed photo with my digital camera and they seem to have a round pearly center. Despite the size of the pics, they are NOT big. They are about the size of a grain of sand or two. They are painless and do not itch.

I've visited three docs and none know what it is. A few guessed warts or molluscum, but did not diagnose. They did not use a colposcope and probably didn't see the amount of detail I've shown in this picture. I finally have a dermatologist appointment but that's a bit aways. Anyone care to weigh in?

I don't know if this is a weird case of herpes (only considering it because the incubation period makes sense), warts, or molluscum.

  • Could be!I'm spreading the word:ALOE VERA GEL!!!I have had molluscum since early September or late August. I may not have it anymore. I first used a product called Molluscuderm (about $60 a bottle, of which I needed two), which does not seem to be sold anymore (I don't know what happend to their company's website, Virabiotics). The product did work, it seems, and my molluscum went away either early or mid-December. About two weeks ago in April, I noticed a few small bumps on my lower stomach area, near my genitals. I cannot be sure if this was molluscum returning or not, but if I had to guess, it was. I researched a bit further and came across a post on Amazon about using Aloe Vera gel (the company is Lily of the Desert). Apparently, it rid someone's or their child's molluscum in two weeks. The next day, I went to Whole Foods and picked this product up. It is a fairly huge bottle for under $7. I shook the bottle, scooped up about a teaspoon of the stuff and rubbed it into every little papule. Did it twice a day for two weeks. Now they are all gone. This method may not work for everyone, but it seems to have worked for me. And it is extremely cheap, comfortable and the product is completely natural and does leave a smell. There is a juice version and a gel version; get the gel version. Lily of the Desert's aloe vera gel is organic and pure aloe vera, so I think it would not be quite the same if you applied an aloe vera moisturizer, cream or the like. Aloe vera is also known to be anti-viral, so it makes sense that it may work. Before you try anything, try this!LILY OF THE DESERT ALOE VERA GEL

  • Definitely looks like it. Ignore the tard about Aloe Vera gel, she probably got lucky. I had an aloe vera plant and it did nothing. Check out rebuilder's $300 kit at molluscum.com. I had it for 6 months and this is what finally got rid of it. The electrical device doesn't hurt at all. I used Zymaderm and it works but it doesn't stop it from spreading.

  • The dermatologist should be able to tell. Do they come to a head and break open? That's herpes...then they go away. You can get a blood test for herpes 2 to rule it out. The other two don't go away and you need treatment by the dermatologist.

  • They don't come to a head and open/blister. They've been exactly the same for two weeks. That's why I doubt it's herpes and think it's molluscum. Is it possible to get it from a public toilet seat? If I got it sexually, was it most likely from that girl two weeks ago or my GF from 4 months ago?As for the 300$ rebuilder kit; that's too much money to "try" something that may or may not work. How often do molluscum spread? I've had mine for two weeks now and havent noticed more.

  • Those are almost definitely MCV.Start reading the big long thread.Aloe Vera won't work. That person probably just got lucky, and their immune response coincided with the aloe. The SilverCure stuff doesn't work either, but those guys are notorious for fake testimonial posts. It is possible for MCV to surface after a week, or after 4 months. It's usually 6-8 weeks, but that's only "usual".Spreading depends on the person. A new lesion can incubate for weeks before it becomes visible.Go see a dermatologist. Freezing helps, Aldara usually helps. If you're shaving that skin, STOP. Extra-sanitary practices help.

  • If you're taking votes, I'll vote for the girl two weeks ago.

  • That's Molloscum.Go get them frozen.Herpes is itchy/painful.It might not have been either of the two girls. It's possible w/ the toilet seat but since you have it on your abdomen it's more likely from a towel, or your own hands/under fingernails & itching. Do you play any sports with gloves?More likely one of the two girls though, I also vote for the 2 weeks-ago girl, even though I would wonder if it needs a longer incubation period than that... I am skeptical that all the "knowledge" thats posted is really true and/or there are new strains of it that have new incubation times. It certainly seems like more people have Mollosum than ever before.

  • Well I've turned my genital region into a damned polka dot fest. I'm having an extremely difficult time telling molluscum apart from fordyce spots or sebaceous glands. I think actually removed a sebaceous gland by mistake instead of molluscum. ****s. My ***k looks terrible.I've also started aldara and cimetidine, and a few of the molluscum (20%?) are turning red. No itching or pain and I've been on it over a week. And of course as fate would have it, I'm having a lot of girls interested in me while I have this POS virus.

  • You dont want to just go have them liquid nitrogen frozen at the doc? Very simple and relatively painless.

  • You dont want to just go have them liquid nitrogen frozen at the doc? Very simple and relatively painless.I talked to the derm and she suggested curettage instead. Who am I to disagree? I go in this weekend. Also: Some of the legions turned red and burst. It looks pretty gross. If it weren't for the fact it took 4 weeks to burst I woulda thought it was herpes.Apparently MCV can burst.More lesions are turning red (supposedly a good thing), but some on the shaft still haven't. I hear Aldara is less effective on the genitals and works better on the lower abdomen.

  • Okay...that definetly looks like molluscum... i was diagnosed with it last week.. i had only 2 of them...and i thought they were warts so i was freaking out... my doctor popped them for me... and after about 2 days it was no longer swollen and there was no fluids or anything inside.. ive had anouther one for about 3 months near my bikini line and until about a few days ago it was swollen to the size of like 2 grains of rice... i pooped it and yet again..the next day..there was no swelling..just a little dot of dried blood... if you dont have too many, try popping them and covering with a bandaid.. if you do have a lot... i dont think they would recommend freezing them off with nitrogen... i guess you should just wait it out and let the virus clear up on its own.. in the meantime, maintain a healthy diet and good excercise to keep your immune system in check...GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!

  • I told you to get Silver Cure man.Forget about girls for a while. Probably a year or more.Curettage is just downright painful.Silvercure DOES work. The accelerator is the key. You can't just buy the gel and expect it to work. It IS worth the $300 for the kit. I use it every day. This is something conventional medicine sucks at curing. If you don't want to spend the $300 try starting out with Tea Tree Oil.Aldara will make your skin peel and can have very negative side effects. Might as well use Zymaderm.. it has the same effect.I've been dealing with this for almost a year now. Molluscum is VERY contagious. Do not put bandaids on it or shave it. It will make it worse.Freezing them is also not a bad idea.

  • So I know that this thread is old and that the problem is probably solved by now, but:I was diagnosed with it a year and a half ago, at a free clinic in my area. They looked at it, asked me some questions, and froze 'em.Hurt like a ****h.Was gone in two days.Find a free std clinic in your area. They're usually run by the Department of Health for your city/county/state. They see these situations everyday and WILL help you.

  • There is an alternative to freezing and electric current. I don't know what it's called but it's painless, and I believe it comes from the rainforrest canopy...my son had this on his knees a while back. Tried to freeze them off at home... ouch and tears.Simple topical from doc fixed it in a couple of weeks with no recurrance.

  • The Pics didnt work for me so i dont know... who paid 300 for wha now? craziness... But in all ive paid more than that already... cryosurgery didnt work for me 2 times and still here... some kinda acid was used by an std clinic i went to just cant think of the name... that worked the best but been treated 4-5 times now... lost count. somethings gotta work... ima try tea tree oil if this acv app overnight and zymaderm during the day dont work... the zymaderm i havent had too good of results either... keeps spreading... AS FAR AS INCUBATION TIME... I blamed my current girlfriend for a while because i didnt notice anything until 3mo. after i started up with her. it was on my penis, showed it to her and asked when the last time she got tested she said 3mo. ago and I said I should get tested, she said its nothing dont worry, it looks like a pimple. a month later and dint go away, i made her and i get tested and was diagnosed with mollescum in jan. (again noticed my first bump dec., been with just her since august)... AND worse of all i found out the girl i slept with back in march of 09 had it, and i kinda made my current gf think she gave it to me because she was also with someone in march as well... so incubation time id say can be up to 9mo.... this sux and has ruined us... Luckily shes only gotten 1 bump and cleared it after i was first treated. She supposedly got it after me and didnt have anything when i had it. But i also noticed a small tiny bump o her ***t giving her oral. She told me it was a birthmark... and it probably is. But based on that and the fact that i wasnt with anybody else for 9mo. i thought she gave it to me... AND SHE DIDNT... I got ****ed... YOU AINT GONNA FIND OUT TILL SOMEONE TELLS YOU THE TRUTH. I was lucky to find that much... Who knows maybe both these girls had it one lied and one didnt... i dont even know anymore... What I do know is its been 8mo. and i still have this ****... and im wrapped in cottonballs, duct tape, seran wrap, and smell somethin like a salad right now.

  • I'm not a doctor, but I have and have had molluscum contagiosum. The doctors have told me it's not an STD; it's simply transmitted through contact. Anyway, I went to my P.C.P. (Primary Care Physician) about 2 weeks ago (where two etremely attractive female nurses made a diagnostic observation of my condition. That was embarrassing, Ha!) and they said it is absolutely Molluscum and froze every "pimple" with the liquid nitrogen. Now. two weeks later, the pimples are barely visible and almost gone. One of the nurses did say that it is possible for a few more to pop up, so definitely make a follow up appointment a few weeks later. Hope this helps.Sincere regards,Just a friend
