My 13 month old daughter woke up with a large, red spot on her right cheek that is really warm. The spot does not seem to bother her and doesn't feel raised or bumpy. She's woken with this approx 4 times over the last few months. The spot usually lasts one full day and is gone the next morning. Unfortunately it's getting bigger every time she gets it. The first time the spot was the size of a quarter. This morning, however it covered almost her entire cheek (from her ear to almost her nose).
My doctor thinks it might be a food allergy but is not sure. I've also had people suggest it might be a teething spot or even eczema. Any other ideas?
