Treating Infections?

 I pinched my thumb two weeks ago along with a nasty scrape around the base of my fingernail. I put antibiotic ointment with a bandaid on after I washed it and poured hydrogen peroxide on the wound. I've been doing this daily for 11 days. Now it appears to be getting "eaten up" around the fingernail with discharges of pus and blood. Some mentioned I might have a splinter under the skin, but I don't see one. I have a docter's appointment, but I have a feeling this doctor is going to say it's infected and tell me to do the same things I've been doing. Any suggestions?
