Ok, so I've had severe stretch marks on my body since I was about 13-14 (am now 22). Never on my face though (didn't even know it was possible). However, over the past couple of days I've been noticing more and more stretch marks on my face every day and am really really freaking out. In case you're wondering, yes I am SURE they are stretch marks. They started appearing on my face after only two days of taking cymbalta (for my depression). I woke up on the second day with a huge bulging vein on my forehead and immediately went off the drug. However, since then I've started noticing these stretch marks on my face. What on earth is going on???

And BTW, I never fit any of the categories of people vulnerable for stretch marks (never gained/lost weight rapidly, grew quickly, played a lot of sports, took steroids, did weightlifting, was pregnant (kind of hard since I'm male) etc.)

Sorry for my bad english!I got stretchmarks on my tummy at age 12(not by weight gain or loss), and they just continued to emerge on weird places without no reason!? I'm now 16.I live in sweden, and I think it's a lot more unusual here than other places, feels like i've asked like millions of people, but everyone just "you can't get stretch marks just like that" but the thing is that you can!But now I know that you get stretchmarks from "hormonrubbningar" Hormone disturbance(don't know what it is in english).I have BDD(body dysmorphic disorder) and I think its probably slowly started at the same time as my first stretchmarks.I also suffering from depression, like you do. And i recently started to take "pills" (i don't know the name at the moment) 2 weeks ago, yesterday i woke up with a little stretchmark on my cheek!! I've also started to take a lot of diffrent vitamins that i don't get into my body by food, I started with them 2 days before the stretchmark on my cheek appeard.I keept swallow my medicin and vitamins...And today I woke up and it had gone from like 5mm to 4cm long, and 3 very tiny ones beside of it!Right now it's just feels like my life is ruined, don't know how you feel. But i'm going to test my blood on monday because it's something that isn't right when you're getting stretchmarks in the face! I would recommend you to do it to. It can be something wrong with your thyroid gland, I think that can be the reason.

  • I agree...do have a TSH exam and get the blood workx...sometimes it can be the cause of those marks but if all are fine, you can try using shea butter on your face for the marks or use coffee scrub... how?easy:- 1 cup fresh-ground coffee- 1/2 cup brown sugar- 1/2 cup salt- 1/2 cup coconut oil»Mix all the ingredients. Massage areas with marks for five minutes in a circular motion.Rinse when finished. Repeat three to five times per week. :D

  • In my views, there are lots of method to avoid stretch marks. You can use good creams, lotions which consist of vitamin E. This will surely help you.

  • Creams will lighten and fade stretch marks and scars. The reason they remain is that people are too anxious and give up after a short time. Consistency is the key, keep applying cream not matter how long, weeks, months. You will see results, just not soo fast in every cases as each is different. Only with chemical peels with acne is every case the same. I had good results with Excel Skin Care's all purpose cream which can be used for scars as well. They have a store on Amazon which has the best prices. I still use their products, the anti aging serums.

I too have similar problems. I'm a male and have been the same size since I was around 18. Years later, I'm still the same size with very low body fat..and am real active. A few years ago I started to get stretch marks starting on my legs. Then got them on my stomach and chest. About a year ago I started to get little ones all over my forearms and tops of hands..like my skin had had it. They now have moved on to my upper arms, shoulders, and yes I'm getting some on my face. One thing that is unusual I've found is that they never first appear RED like most people say. It's like they slowly just start appearing over the course of a few months, from barely noticable. And it's not like skin under pressure stretch marks. It's more like the whole area of skin just isn't elastic anymore and is now ribbed.Another unusual characteristic is my hair follicles all over my body are grouped...more than one hair emerges from each hair follicle. Perhaps my skin doesn't get the proper amount of sebum because the pores are jammed? I'm totally lost. I've tried almost all diets, vitamins, lotions and oils, not to cure but try to prevent/slow down the problem. Did you ever find any answers?
