Strange Red Lines near armpits, pelvis

About a month ago I noticed several jagged, red lines on my upper - left arm. I figured they were due to over-exertion or something (although there was no pain) and that they would go away. Fast-forward to yesterday and I noticed more of them in my genital area in the shower. There is no "bulge", if anything the skin is just barely recessed, and they are no more than .25 inches wide (8-10 total lines on my arm).

I have been normally healthy, if a bit overweight (I am a shot putter, but it's not on my throwing arm). Is this something I should be worried about? Any similar experiences or suggestions?

Much appreciated.

PS - I've been trying to find a picture on google images or something that matches this, but have had no luck so far.

  • Hi, I used to have pretty bad stretch marks and red scars around my belly region ever since I gave birth to my three kids.I had tried Vitamin E oil and cocoa butter which a number of people had recommended but unfortunately it didn't seem to work too well. My Doctor had even suggested that I go for a Tummy Tuck. I then recently read an article about a lady who supposedly got rid of her stretch marks using a particular cream. I tried it and it worked really well. It took a number of weeks but my stretch marks soon faded away. You can read the lady's article at the link below. http://www.stretchmarkszapped.com

  • I have the same exact thing... I really want to know the answer to this too, whether they are stretch-marks or a different condition.

  • My daughter had the same issue with red marks by her upper arm and pelvis. Her primary care doctor stated that they must be stretch marks ....even though she was not overweight. Fast forward to a few years later....she was diagnosed with Lyme disease and put on anibiotic treatment. After months of agressive treatment the marks all disappeared. I spoke to the Lyme specialist that treated her and did my own research and found out that Lyme disease can cause these marks and so can other tick bourne infections. If these red marks are accompanied by other Lyme symptoms...I would suggest a visit to a Lyme specialist. These doctors have the best grip on the issue.Best of luck!!!
