It sounds worse than it is, I can cover it with makeup. But that being said, I will NOT go out without said makeup.

My skin is the dry and oily at the same time kind, and for the last few months the areas around my nose and chin are flaky and red.

I can like, scrub the flakes off every morning so it doesnt show under the foundation, but usually during the day it goes a little flaky again.
Its very small flakes, it just looks really really dry or something.

NOTE the redness never bothered me till last night, because its not BRIGHT red its just a tiny bit darker than my skin, but last night after I took my makeup off I saw it looked kinda patchy, with fairly clear edges to it.

Another thing Ill mention is that Ive tried several different facial washes/scrubs just to keep it all clear but that seems to make it worse over the next few days so I always stop after that.

  • I don't know what it is, but what you have sounds exactly like what I've been dealing with for 15 years - since puberty. Over the years, I've learned a few things to keep it under control. 1. I stopped using ANY cleansers on my face. Just a rinse with water and a scrub with a facecloth. This has made the most difference, and my skin has never been better (even with acne and wrinkles)! It's the sweat glands that are reacting, so my theory is that I overstimulate them by washing. With all the natural oils on your face, your skin takes care of itself if you just leave everything be. 2. Water and sleep - If I'm low on these, I tend to get an outbreak. 3. When it does outbreak, zinc oxide (diaper rash cream) is the only thing that helps. It soothes and heals. Leave it on overnight. And try not to touch the spots too much.Good luck!
