I never went to the doctor for it because when I mentioned it to my parents they would tell me it was probably nothing, I am over 40 now and mine has never developed into shingles, I have never had bumps or any evidence on the top side of my skin, just patches that were painful if touched. Just decided to look and see if anyone else experienced this because yesterday it turned more painful because it feels like it is in my ear canal. I have always had a sneaky suspecion it could be linked to the herpies one virus I aquired as a young child.
