Can anyone tell me if you need to come in contact with a person or object to catch (ringworm) of the lower stomach area. Can it just appear due to sweating and heat? I always thought you must come in contact with the fungus in order to catch it.My husband claims his doctor told him it is from sweating and tight fitting undies, pants. It seems hard to beleive him.

  • You can get it from sharing towels with someone, also. It grows in warm, most places. I got a few years ago on my chin. Get some prescription cream from your doctor, and it'll clear right up. ;)
