I went to the doctor today for a more than usual swelled tattoo i got a few days ago mainly because I missed work and needed a doctor's excuse. The doctor looked at it and decided he didn't know if it was infected or just *****(not vulgar) due to body's natural reaction to push out what doesn't belong. So he prescribed me prednisone and cephalexin. I understand the cephalexin, but why the prednisone? It's not that inflamed, just *****. Wouldn't something as mild as ibuprofen work just fine? Doesn't prednisone weaken the immune system's ability to fight infection? Do doctors often prescribe prednisone in similar cases?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
