Hello everyone, i'm saddened and extremely sorry to hear that many people out there are going through the same thing as me. At the same time, it gives me some hope that maybe we can find something that will help us all out. This is why i have decied to start my own post about this desease, because i feel i might have some more information different that all the others I have read.
I do have pictures, alot of them, but they are too big in size to post up, and i don't have a program to resize. Hense, if anyone wants to see pictures for comparison, PM me your e-mail address and I will be more than happy to send you some.
Mine has been going on 5 months now. My red bumps first appeared about June 10th this year. I had just retured from a trip to Cancun. A couple days after my return, i noticed these small red bumps on the trunk of my body and the back of my armpits and arms. I went to my doctor, and was misdiagnosted with having chicken pox. They sent me to a dermatologist who took a biopsy, again misdiagnosing me with something else. Finally, two weeks later, I recieved a call about the results from the biopsy coming in, and they said that the bumps where consitant with a disease called PLEVA, or Mucha-Hebermann Disease. They had me on a antibotic for about a week, which did nothing. They basically told me to sit and wait for it to go away. I've read plenty of articles on it, but still seems pretty rare and incurable. It's not contagous, I have a fiancee that I live with and went to the trip to Cancun with me, and she hasn't had anything close to what I'm experiencing. The bumps started on the trunk of my body, and moved to my arms, chest, legs, feet, hands, neck, and face. They start as little red bumps with a white tip, then the tip forms into a scab. The scabs are very thick and embedded into my skin. These are extremely itchy, and I can't find anything that will help out. I've acidentaly ripped some scabs off and they dont bleed. They just leave a gaping hole in my skin, like a crater, that usualy inflames the skin quite a bit. I've read articles that say that Goji juice can help, tried it, nothing. I've started drinking mangosteen juice now, with high hopes, and again, no real progress. I'm hoping we can find a similarity in our posts and track down what causes this horrible skin disorder. Apparently we can't rely on our doctors to have an exact reason to whats causing our pain and agony. If anyone has had anything (as crazy as it may be) that has helped, I'm willing to be a guiny pig and try it to test results. I wish you all good luck in your healing process, as I know it is very difficult and emberassing to have.
