I'm just wondering what these sores may be.
I've looked up herpes and the pictures of what herpes is and I've ruled out that.
I can't help but think that its somesort of insect bite.
I had one on my left buttox drained by the ER dr a few weeks ago, and he also didnt say anything about herpes, STD, ect... but now I have 2 more. One on the right side of my buttox and one on my upper right thigh. The one on my buttox started draining yesterday, and some blood and puss is on the guaze bandage I put on, but the one on my thigh hasn't done anything but get bigger, and more painfull.
They hurt very very bad, even when I'm just laying down. I'm taking antibiotics to see if that helps. But I can't afford to go BACK to the ER to have these 2 new ones drained. I just would like to know what they exactly are and how I can treat them at home.

  • Sunds like staph to me--didn't they do a culture? Also--is there any chance you are close to if not diabetic? Sounds dangerous --I would continue being seen--insist on a culture of the pus inside.

  • Yes, it sounds like a staph infection to me too. The ER should have done a blood and skin culture. Did they? It takes three days for the cultures to grow to determine whether or not it's staph and what kind (if it is staph.) If you're sores are MRSA the antibiotics you're taking aren't helping it. And, if it is MRSA you will need to go back to the ER whether you want to or not. MRSA isn't something you can treat at home nor is it something you should mess around with. If it is MRSA the pain alone will send you back to the ER. God Bless
