Painful red bumps on fingers

Out of nowhere three days ago I developed these red, shiny (I assume because of stretched skin), painful, itchy bumps on my middle, ring, and pinky fingers of my right hand. They're like acne in appearance; no centers or oozing, just painful to the touch, itchy, and appearing fast. I started out with one, right next to an old wart, but now they're all over the place. I have about six of them now, just in the matter of a few days. I'm 18.

Are these warts coming in, maybe an insect bite? What should I do?

  • it sounds like it might be a mild case of erythema multiforme minor. that's the diagnosis I got for something like that on my hands, I tend to get it, I think, when I'm overly stressed or my immune system is acting up. It should clear up soon enough, don't pop them, and if it gets worse or recurs you might want to see an actual dermatologist about it, maybe they could suggest some sort of cream.
