Basically my problem is constant painful ingrown hairs. They never seen to go away and my doctors seem to not even consider this to be a problem. The dermatologist i have seen seemed more interested in selling me non-prescription creams than actually diagnosing what is causing the problem. These hairs show up near my groin and my neck where facial hair normaly grows. Most times i have to dig with a needle to remove the hair. Some days i pull out hairs that are over 2" long. Im in my early 20s and this is causing me to not want to leave my house. Does anyone have any ideas what would cause this?

  • Do these hairs have large follicles on them? Meaning the white end of the hair is larger than normal.

  • I have the exact same problem, and I completely understand your problem and the frustrations that come along with it. People who do not have this problem often dismiss it as normal and act as if im crazy to be upset by it. However, this problem is NOT normal. I very seldom encounter people who have to deal with this same problem every single day of their lives. Growing a beard has been the only solution that I have been able to come up with. AND believe me, I have tried EVERYTHING. Of course it has to be one of those homeless type beards all up and down the neck.

Have the same problem, they turn in to boils then & after countless course's of antibiotics they still never cleared up. But what i have found that works is using Clinique clarifying lotion No.2 then E45 cream afterwards, i do this morning & night continually, if i miss doing it they flare up again.......its the only thing that has ever worked for me. hope it works for you !
