Okay, so about a month ago I got this small bumpish/raised skin on my right shoulder. Now recently I've noticed it growing bigger in size, as well as other bumps on my torso start. Today I have realized that the bumps on my torso are doing exactly as the one on my shoulder was - growing into more of a rash shape, rather than circle bumb shape. As well as some of the skin appearing to dry up, or become scaly that's on the bump/rash area.
I also noticed that I had like 12 more growing on my back.
At first I figured it was eczema because it runs pretty strong on my dads side of the family,
but considering it neither itches nor burns, and has staid around for abit, grew, and spawned plently on new "babies" I've decided to research a little bit.
I've seen others like this, but with no answers.
I do plan on going to a doctor as soon as my insurance is switched over to my new plan.
So, I decided to take a few pictures since I hadn't seen other posters with the same symptoms do so.

Here is the shoulder that started small and now has grew.

It's hard to tell in the pictures but the big ones have like dry skin
or something on them. Non of them itch or hurt in anyway.
If you have any information or anything, I'd appreciate it!
Thanks!

  • I have the exact same thing! And it started on my right shoulder as well...weird! I wasn't going to do anything about it because it didn't itch or burn, like you said, but now I have small ones all over my torso. I also can't think of any changes I have made to my diet or soaps recently. Post back if you find out what it is. I have a doctor's appointment on the 21st, so I'm just going to wait until then to ask.

  • Looks like my rash and I have Lupus. It did not show up until summer when I was out in the sun. Took me several years to find the correct Doctor. My rash does not really ich but will feel like a burning and hurt when touched.;141975]Okay, so about a month ago I got this smalbumpish/raised skin on my right shoulder. • http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/tc/pityriasis-rosea-topic-overviewi had a rash similar to the pictures of the thread starter. i went to several doctors and finally this was the end result (link above). if it started as one patch then spawned baby patches all over the trunk of your body this is probably itt. i had several doctors look at me and scratch their heads like i was some bizzar case of leprosy. no bueno. pitytiasis rosea for me fit all my symptoms. and to the looks of that picture looks like what you have.

  • This looks like pityriasis rosea. I had it in college- it started with a few spots on my torso, and over a couple weeks more would appear all the time till there were quite a lot on my torso, upper arms, and upper thighs. It wasn't painful or itchy, and the spots would get a little dry/scaly after awhile. Google for some images to see if you think that's what it is. But your photos look very similar to what I had. The good news is it isn't harmful in any way- no need for medication, it just goes away on its own after awhile. The bad news is there's no real treatment so you just have to wait it out. It took around 8 weeks for all the spots to be pretty much gone for me.

  • Everyone who has this type in HIVES into google images; looks just look what your describing. It's a form of allergy to the sun x

  • Paige, it's not hives. Hives are itchy and/or painful and go away with antihistamine treatment (because histamine caused the rash) in a few days. Everything everyone has described lasts for weeks which is much more common in cases of Pityriasis rosea.
