I have had a problem recieving my periods for the past couple of years ever since I came of age. Yeah, it's gross, so I don't really miss having my period cycles. However, I heard that if girls do not recieve their monthly period cycles, they can suffer from bone deterioration when they become older. I'm afraid of something like this happening to me as I still feel fit and fine as can be, but I don't want this hanging over me in the next couple of years. When everyone started having their periods at that time, I recieved my first one at the age of 14, which was way later than everyone elses. But after my first one, I did not recieve it again until almost 8 months later, and then it stopped again. My doctor, who I do not see anymore, perscribed to me iron capsules to see if this would work which it did. But when my period cycle continued longer than normal which was for about 8 days, the doctor became worried. When I was going into my third week of my period cycle, which still did not stop, the doctor took me off from it. I recieved my period again, but only once and then it went into hidding again. So then, she perscribed me some birth control pills which worked like a charm. But my perscription ran out and I did not have the money to buy anymore. Again, my period went into hidding and has been gone ever since. I am 24 years old now and even though I feel as fit as a 12 year old, I don't know if I should be worried about not having my period cycles. I sometimes forget to eat in the mornings and try to eat during lunch at least if that helps. I also try to drink water whenever I can, and I also workout in the safety of my home with the workout games on my Playstation 3. Any clues on what is wrong with me?
