Hi :)

Okay, so details: On my left foot my skin has been peeling. It started with maybe 2 spots about 2mm to 4mm diametre, the skin layer of the spot would harden (crust over maybe??) and it was possible to peel off (the crusty thing). HOwever the skin around the spot would also peel away, and on the outskirts of where the skin peeled away, another spot would start to form. And so the process continues.

There is no itchiness or pain. There are never more than maybe 5 spots. This started on the bottom of my foot and has moved around to just being seen on the left side skin. Where the skin has been peeled away/spots have formed - no new spots have reappeared there. It doesn't seem to be contagious as it has only appeared on my left foot. I have tried a cream to resolve Tinea, and nothing happened.

Any clues to what this is??

Thanks.

  • Sounds like a spider bite... ever here of a brown recluse spider. look up image results on google for that spider and see if thats what it looks like. if it is you need to get it treated right away. that spiders bite is causing skin to rot from the inside out and only can be stopped if you cut off ahead of where the rotted skin is. if you wait to long it could mean amputation of a limb. but just check the pictures first and see if i'm on the same page as you first

  • Okay, no chance of that, as I live in New Zealand and we have few dangerous spiders. I have been bitten by a spider before so I know what to expect and a spider bite it is not.

  • Ok, I've had this problem too for a year or two so far and it gets really bad in the summer and nothing I do works. I don't know what it is, but it's only on one of my feet (my left one too) and it's really irritating because when the skin peels, underneath it's really sore and raw :( Does anyone know what this is and anything I can do to get rid of it??Thanks!

I have had it for years, got it from my husband who used to be in the Marines. Good ol' fashioned Jungle Rot. Try Lamisil.
