I just had a feeling that antibiotics were the answer in my case. I had a staph infection of the follicles. One derm doc swabbed my skin with her eyes rolled (my suggestion that it was staph)...her culture came back negative.
So then I suggested staph to my PCP and she swabbed my nose and it came back positive. Two of the proper abx - (I did not have mrsa) - 5 days of Bactroban (a MUST to clear the nasal area of staph) and a week of antibactial scrub once a day.....
Within in 2 days the itch subsided.....I had these spots and pink bumps all over my body (not on face or neck) and it is still going away.....but mostly all gone.
