I have been in a monogamous relationship for the past 3 years. Early this summer, I noticed strange bumps on my buttocks (anus) region and I made an appointment to see a dermatologist and gynecologist. They both confirmed that I had molluscum and genital warts. I was told by the doctors that the genital warts may have been contracted by any previous partners that I had prior to my 3 year relationship. I am just dumbfounded as to how I acquired the molluscum. With adults, the most likely method of transmission is through sexual activity. I have never had anything like this before. I have been completely faithful in my 3 year relationship and he has told me the same. I was told by the dermatologist that I could have acquired it through a towel or by trying on clothes. I remember that I had used some underwear that I bought for clearance at Victoria Secrets. I did not wash the underwear before using them. I also had a Brazilian wax 4 months prior to noticing the molluscum. When my (now ex) partner went to his dermatologist to get treated for the same symptoms, the doctor told him that my "excuse" was bull****. Yes, a professional used those words! He implied to my ex that the only way he got this was if I cheated on him. It's important to note that I had them a month or two before he did...it seems as if I was the "first" carrier. Of course, this entire mess has completely shattered our relationship. With all this background information I just want to know, could I have gotten molluscum through any other method other than sexual activity? Would getting a wax or wearing underwear that other people handled (in a clearance bin) could be how I acquired molluscum? I just need to answers because I am struggling to find them. Thank you!Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
