Malignant Melanoma or something else??!

I have some lumps that's been growing on my legs and thighs. First there was this mole, that's been there for ages, since I was born. Then, few months ago, I noticed a lump, and it grew bigger. that was on my right leg, above the knee, towards the outer part. Coour: pink, skin tone. Not brownish (yet? sigh).

Last week, I doscovered a new lump, its on my left thigh, and it's growing too. Now, it's slgihtly brownish. Few days ago, I discovered a NEW lump, growing above my left knee, but facing the outer part.

I'm worried, but it doesn't seem to be malignant melanoma? Yes? No? Could it be anything else? Please tell me...

Also, I do not sunbathe a lot, probably once a year, and no, I'm rarely exposed to hot sun over a long period of time, the most is walking to and fro lunch. There's no hot sun when I head towards the office in the morning, and by the time I leave for home, it's already dusk. So that's why I'm having doubts on developing malignant melanoma.

Sigh, can somebody please help me here? Lighten my burden... before I freak out while visiting the doctor (which won't be any time soon...).

  • tempting though it is to enquire further about this i am concerned about the possibility that even informed guesses in this context may simply serve to keep you away from the surgery.going to see the doctor will not alter the facts. delay may alter you.the simple rule for diagnosing m.m.is easy to apply but it should only be used in conjunction with the precautionary principle. it is early days by the sound of it.am i right?even if it is a nasty,it will only be a matter of a removal under local anaesthetic and you will feel only the injection.you do worse to yourself every time you use a sewing needle!(do people still do that?)my wife had one done last year in the doctors surgery and didnt let out a peep.on the other hand ,if you let things slide, you could end up regretting it.grow up and face facts.if this is the worst you ever have to face, you will be lucky.be brave. good luck.let us all know how you get on.

  • Thanks a lot... I'm paying a visit to a local GP (maybe a specialist is a better idea but I'm pretty right on cash) this Saturday. I'm not freaked-out yet, but I know I will be when I return to obtain my results. Well.
