  • You might call your local medical society. If your LS is vulvular, seek agynecologist. If not, seek a dermatologist. Keep looking for one you trust. Also, check the articles on the internet for things you can do to help yourself. For instance, assuming you are a woman, wear cotton panties with no elastic in the legs, use a non-soap feminine cleanser and NO washcloth, as well as other helpful hints. You will need a physician to prescribe the topical salvewhich I prefer over the cream version.

I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH lichen sclerosis CHRONICUS AND WAS TOLD STRESS WAS THE CAUSE .STILL GET MANY FLAIR UPS AND HAVE NOW REAL TREATMENT I DO HOPE YOU WILL STILL GET THIS POST AND HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON CHARMAINEReal Treatment! Is that possible. Just diagnosed with LS in September but have struggled for two years. My understanding is this. No cure you just have to find out what triggers the flare-ups and stick to a daily prevenative. I use an ointiment that is a compound drug: testosterone propionate and triamcinolone. On top of that I've eliminated my tennis skirts, its all about 100% cotton and not tight. I play competitive tennis and if I'm doing a tournament I shower between matches. That holds true for anything that causes a great deal of sweat. My Doctor also told me that one of her "LS Girls" found that when she had Jalepenos she would start a flare up the next day. No more salsa for me. No more wipes, soaps or perfumes in that area. Keep it clean just with water. Pressure can also trigger it. I haven't ridden a bike in years and I'm glad my husband works out of state (M-F) so I don't dissappoint him too ofter. I would joke that I'm allergic to him but now that actually holds some truth. I have been so uncomfortable with every over-the contor itch relief tried and failed and just crying. If I had a knife and the guts I felt like it would be better to cut it all off then deal with the discomfort. I've been told by my doctor that skin graphs have been tried but it comes from the inside out and patients find the symptoms just reoccurring within months. No crotch implants on e-bay- I looked. I have to laugh about it because I am so unhappy with the diagnosis. On the other hand I haven't had a flare-up in a month so maybe everything that I am trying is helping. Please- Please-Please....
