all this started about a week ago, and it's beginning to drive me up the wall. out of nowhere one night, i developed a rash between my shoulder blades that covered an area about 8 inches wide. it itched severely, but when i would scratch it, it got a lot worse, and the itching spread. when my wife looked at it and took a picture, it looks like a welt like you get from a mosquito bite, only instead of a bumb, it's a long raised straight line.
for days, this was all it did, about midway through the day till i went to bed.
over the last 2 weeks, it has progressed. now when i get these areas popping up, they are either staright raised areas, or a large circular raised area with raised lines protrudin out, which my wife says looks like the shape of a spider.
neither my wife nor 2 children have these. when i scratch it, the area grows and itches more, but if i don't scratch, it lingers for a couple of hours and goes away, but then resurfaces the next day, or the same day in a different spot.
the places i get them are always the same......between my shoulder blades, the back of my neck, my scalp, and the back of my neck. although on a few occasions, they have appeared on my collarbone, lower back, and wrists.
i went to the doc and he said it may be some type of bacterial infection, so he put me on keflex, which i've been on for a week with no improvement.
this itching is driving me insane and nothing will make this condition stop, please someone help me if you know what this could be.
