Hello, I am a 24 year old male. I have been experiencing serious itching all over my body for about six months now, starting mildly but with increasing severity. Accompanying this have been small, dry red bumps on my hands and wrists, slightly on my forearms, with larger much itchier bumps on my thighs and legs. The situation has progressed to the point that my buttocks are now covered in these bumps, and I am itching constantly. Also, it seems my girlfriend may have also contracted this, as she has been getting itchy over the last couple of months. A doctor prescribed me cream for Scabies, but this actually seems to have made it worse, as I now seem to have a couple scaly or bump patches (they are patches with texture of an indeterminite nature) around my neck and in the middle of my chest. I have saved pictures of the bumps on my buttocks to my photobucket account if this helps, they can be viewed at the following links:

Please help me to find out what this might be as it is impacting my career and social life in a negative manner.

My dermatologist prescribed an antibiotic that I had to use for 30 days. It did not help a bit. Later a friend suggested a cream called Bactroban. It worked very well. Bumps disappeared after a few weeks and I never had the same problem again.

  • MOG.. I couldn't see the pics, because they are no longer there, but, it sounds exactly like scabies. btw.. they take a while to get rid of, and you need to be persistant. it's been a year now.. what was the outcome?

  • had the same thing thought it was shingles turns out the dr. was stupid and it was bed bugs from a couch that we had purchase at an Aarons rent to own store. they come out at night around 3 adm i thought that whatever i had was getting my husband infected but it was that he was getting bitten too. check the seems of your mattress couch clothes on the floor and carpet. they are like and amber color the bigger they are though, reder. good luck....if its not bed bugs good luck cause the itch kills no matter what it is.
