I have this itchiness in my pubic area that comes and goes, but when it is really itchy, it's hard to bear and stand still. I've had this for about 2 weeks now hoping an over-the-counter anti-itch cream would work, but it hasn't. Along with itchiness of the pubic area, the skin is most of the time very dry and flaky. Along with that there is a distinct smell in my pubic area even after I washed it, coming out of the shower.

I do not believe I have pubic lice as I've heard that you can see it with the visible eye. I haven't been able to seen any though. Occasionally, there are also zit/pimple like look around one strand of pubic hair, but I usually pop them with some kind of small looking thing coming out.

Any suggestions on what it could be or how I could treat it?

Allergies that cause red skin bumps range from food or medicine based allergies to pollen, dust mites or mold. Colorless Skin Bumps Colorless skin bumps are often insect bites but can also be developing acne or signs of problems underneath the skin. If the colorless bump itches then it is likely a mosquito bite or an allergy. If the bump is hard it may be a cyst or nodule under the skin. If the bump is under the skin you may want to get a biopsy if the bump is changing in size or reoccurring. Puss Filled Skin Bumps If you have skin bumps that are filled with puss it is important to determine the color of the puss. If it is clear puss then it might be eczema or a blister. If it is blood filled puss then it might be psoriasis or a bug bite. If it is white puss then it might be acne. If it is yellow puss it might be herpes or a bacterial or viral infection. good luck! :D
