I have had the same symptoms as described in just about every article for the past three weeks.
This “itch and scratch” allergy and I am not sure if it is an allergy but that would be my guess, had me feeling rather depressed. Now for the good news, Last night I had a revelation, I once had a Collie that would not stop scratching and was so miserable. After taking him to the vet, the vet gave me an oatmeal based shampoo that seemed to really work. So last night I boiled some oat meal in water and made it very watery. After about 4 to 5 min of cooking I then strained it leaving the milky liquid. I applied the oat meal liquid to every infected area including the ones that I scratched to a point to where it was bleeding,
The relief was immediate and I have not had the urge to scratch for almost eight hours. My skin even feels different. I have tried just about every over the counter product, cream, gel and anything else one can think of and nothing worked. Benadryl seemed to provide a little relief but the itch was always present. I have no idea what the outcome will be with the use of the oat meal but the relief that it has provided I am going to continue to use it, Hope this works for everybody else, You all have my preys and sympathies.
