Ingrown hair on groin?

I have been to the doc several times and tested after strenuous pain of having these "ingrown hairs" and puss squeezed out of me and then getting put on dose after dose of antibiotics. Is this one that keeps coming back an infected ingrown hair? The test has come back with bacteria? No STD's, no MRSA, no STAPH. I have been on three different antibiotics and this is the last one, next I am going to a new doctor. The sores are still coming back. They look like blisters at one point due to rubbing against clothes, although they don't become open sores until they are squeezed by my doctor. Any ideas? Or are they really just constant ingrown hairs. Now we think it might be focillitis? HELP?

  • I appreciated your information and I looked over the website, although, this does not seem the same. The characteristics are not alike as in the pictures and symptoms. Mine starts under the skin as a painful lump almost like a not. I am probably going to the doctor considering I have been on antibiotics for over two weeks now and still have two weeks to go. I have gotton another lump? And there is still a little tiny head on the original one? I would think antibiotics are to kill the bacteria, right? It would not just be pushing it all out of me, or would it?

  • the doctor should have that stuff he squeeses out analyzed...since it doesn't start to ooze on it's own, it doesn't sound like herpes, but he can analyze it and I think, run a antibiotic check against it...maybe laser could take care of the ingrown hair if that is all it is...

  • Thanks, I appreciate the info. My doctor has already tested these three times and came back with bacteria. They have currently gone away after my last antibiotics......so we will see how this goes. I just hope I can keep from getting one so I can try the laser hair removal.

  • Exfoliating is the business, I do it in that area all the time and it's fine. Using a shower gel with salacilic acid helps as well, Original source, NeoStrata etc all do some, read the back - AHAs and BHAs are the ingredients to look for or the word "refining" in the name.
