I have a rash that is shaped like a butterfly on my neck/throat area. My doctor originally gave me cortizone steriods and it cleared ... but now it is back in full force and has taken the shape of a butterfly. Does anyone know what this may be? Is it Lupus related?

  • A butterfly rash can be a sign of Lupus - only way to tell is to have the bloodwork done by a rheumatologist. Are you having any other symptoms such as tiredness, aching painful joints, swelling of hands? these are other signs of lupus but you do not necessarily get all of them at the same time. Good luck -
