From as far back as I can remember, and this is going into toddler-hood, I have always had pigmented stripes along my various nails. I never noticed my nails were different from other people until I got a bit older (I'm currently 20 yrs old) and realized that this could be a problem. The thing is, since I've been so self conscious about them I've observed the way they change throughout the years. Some stripes have faded completely (and then sometimes reappear), some stripes stay in one position, then fade, then reappear in another position (just on one nail!) I don't actually think my condition is very life threatening because I have no medical conditions and the stripes aren't generally dark, just a bit darker than my nail bed. Am I just deficient in something that I never knew about?
