I am very surprised to see that most people on here have opted for getting them frozen off or using aldara. My doctor immediately used curettage (scraping off the bumps and removing the core). According to her this is the most effective method and I think I have to agree. First of all its practically painless and barely leaves a mark. Unlike freezing it immediately removes the core which is the virus. It's only been a few days since I got this done but so far so good. I have a follow up in two weeks to check on them and if anymore pop up she said she can just scrape those off as well. It is such a fast procedure and like I said there's barely any pain. When I first noticed these bumps I was in an absolute state of panic. My doctor instantly eased my nerves and also explained to me that even though it is in my genital region that does not make this an std. She said that because I shave(btw shaving is the worst thing you can do it will cause it to spread like wildfire) I was more susceptible to the virus and could have gotten it from anything, a pool, a hot tub, trying on clothes, or the fact that I work with little kids and it could have gotten on my hands and spread to my genitals when I went to the bathroom. I don't think anyone should panic about this it really could be far worse and really curettage seems to be the best option. I had warts on my fingers when I was younger and had them frozen off and I know how horribly painful that is so the thought of having that done down below is terrifying to me. Anyway, I hope this is gone for good if not I will just go back and get them removed. As of right now my boyfriend doesn't have any and I hope it stays that way but he is keeping an eye out for them. I wish the best of luck to all of you...hopefully we'll all be happy and healthy again soon!Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
