Bowen's disease

I was diagnosed with Bowen’s disease in my left lower leg two months ago. My doc gave me Efudix cream to apply on the red patches every night for 1 month. 3 weeks have already passed and I have appointment with the doc next week. I don’t find any improvement in the patches. They are still red, scaly and itchy. I find it bigger but mum says that it is still the same size as it was before. While buying the cream online I had read that “Efudix is mainly used to treat skin cancers and skin conditions which can develop to cancer” and since that day I get really scared. I didn’t tell mum or dad anything about that else they will be very hurt. I am their unique child and I know that they love me a lot. But since there is still no improvement, I fear that this turns into cancer. Anyone here suffered from this disease? Please tell me how long it takes to get cured? What are the chances that this might turn into skin cancer?

  • Bowen's disease IS skin cancer. It's a pre-invasive form of squamous cell cancer. 100% curable. No need to worry.
