Another "is it herpes" question (with photos)

About a week after receiving oral, I noticed a reddish area where my penis meets the scrotum (more on the scrotum though). The area was a little raised. Over the course of the past 5 days there hasn't been much change - maybe it got a little bigger? I don't remember much in the way of itching or pain in that spot, and figured it's an ingrown hair. Today I poked it with a sterile needle to see if I could work out a hair, but had no luck finding one. The skin over it was pretty hard against the needle and not much of anything came out. I don't remember skin over an ingrown hair being a bit hard like this in the past, and since I was exposed to oral, I am wondering if it could be anything else, like herpes. There was no pain at all when I popped it, and nothing came out, it just had a couple of drops of blood from the needle going in. The last photo is what it currently looks like, about an hour after this procedure. The rest of the photos are from over the course of the last 5 days. Here are the 6 photos...

Again, no blisters, no pain, no other symptoms, but I'm wondering if there's any chance it could be herpes, if it's an ingrown hair I didn't find, or if it looks like something else perhaps?

Note: the white dots you see in the area are NOT blisters or pimples or anything of the sort, they are always there, and are hair follicles under the thin skin. I am asking about the red area.

  • It's been over 3 days since I posted, and it looks pretty much the same as it did before I popped it...Can anyone tell what it is from the pics?

I went to an std place to have this looked at, and although they said it didn't look like any typical std, they are running some tests. They did not actually say what it likely could be however, so I'm waiting for the test results, which will help solidify what it is not, but it seems probably not explain what it actually is.So again? Any guesses? Ingrown hair? (I don't see anything in there to make me think so). Blocked sweat gland? I dunno. Can't anyone tell me what this bump is? I'm guessing others have had it, whatever it is...
