I have been experiencing these symptoms for close to 9 years. I have sought medial advice on several occasions to only be told the usual.

It's might be folliculitis..
You need to lose weight(i am 175lbs, && 5ft 5in)
Maybe your not clean enough..(I shower every day religously)
try wearing looser clothing...

I have taken all this advice.
Even if i felt it was slightly off base and applied it to my life.

Now, in the past couple years i have NOT seen a doctor for this problem due to embaressment...

I have developed several 1/2 dollar size(somtimes larger) absesses which are incrediblly painful in the pubic reigon, under my armpits, & breasts... They leave horrific scars and there are also cyst like lumps under the skin in both area's...

Also some of these abscesses will drain but unfortunatelly WILL NOT HEAL!

Now, i am left with these holes in my skin that drain, giant absesses, and huge hard lumps that don't go away...

I am soo self concious that i cannot date
I cannot go swimming with friends..
I can't even get dressed when shopping in stores
because people try to say that i have herpes (which i am 100% sure i don't)
I had them swabbed and tested..

It has become soo emotionally painful
that i have considered suicide...
&& i am only 22 years old... I need help!!!!

please somone =[

I will send pictures if nessissary....

Sincerely,

Lyzi

  • My sister had a severe sinus infection. Was put on levoquin for 10 days still fever and then lump started to form under her arm pit. Then within a few days began to swell and get hard. She was brought in to her doctor who thought it may be celulitus They immediately admitted her to the hospital and found from the cleaning of the area she had MRSAI would surely push for further testing.

  • I have spoke with quite a few doctors and even a few dermatologists about mine as well ...I wish i wrote the name of the disorder down that is apparently very common among women and usually the start of the skin condition occurs after we started our periods. I was given one perscription by a doctor to control outbreaks that she said worked with other patients but never for myself and then a dermatologist at one time tried to give me zolof and told me i had a compulsive habit at picking at my skin (obviously he didnt know or care) regardless I have lost my extra weight...i bathe 2 times a day...I went to another dermatologist but really they act as if there is no cure its just a common occurance that sucks big time!! I totally feel your pain, I feel like you wrote exactly what i feel....They also say women with natural curly hair are more likely to receive. But recently I have noticed my daughted has had boils at one time in her life she had staph infection and had to get lanced and drained and they say once you have staph boil you are for here on out subject and sensitive to catch staph again...Since every human creates staph in they're nostrils I am no kind of doctor but with dealing with this since i was a teen and as many doctors i have spoke to I would think maybe its sum form of staph infection within us that is not being controlled by our bodies....But noone hears me or has an answer...I live the best I can with it....but now has moved over onto my breasts and it was just between my thighs at first and then armpits....But really seeing that my daughter still gets lil bumps and boils now and then would make me think infectious in sum form....but I have had roommates and other family memebers that never received anything from me...but will try sum of the natural suggestions on this forum....but you are not alone....and do not let it control your life, bless your heart and goodluck to everyone.greetingsIM really sorry for your plight, and i haven't the slightest idea what to do about. Unfortunately, i have the same problem. I'VE ALSO BEEN TOLD FOLLICULITS AND OTHERS. However once mine open and drain, they become way less painful but, also won't heal completely and continue to re ocurr. If you find out any treatments would you share with me?Sincerelyss

  • I know exactly what you mean about the bumps. They are very painful and in areas of course you don't want them in. Don't let that take over your life though. You are more than just cysts and abscesses. Try seeing a good dermatologist. I had them removed from my armpits and the surgery was a success. I sometimes get one cyst but I don't care because before it was horrible. There are a few things you can do. Just consult a better dermatologist because I was never told those things. I was told that there is no explaination for why they happen, they just happen to a lot of people. I was given antibiotics and a cleanser. Its called Hibiclens. It works really well. I wish you the best!

  • I have the same issue and have been trying some natural supplements. It's from a company called It Works! Global. I have been using their Defining Gel and Greens. You can take the Greens which is a powder you mix with juice or water to drink. But I take it and mix it with water to make it into a paste and apply it to my scars. It has really helped heal up the scars as has their defining gel. My 'boils' are not as big as they used to be and pus doesn't just come out unless I use a sterilized needle to alleviate the pressure. I also have been taking their multivitamin and since adding these nutrients to my body I have not been getting them as often and they aren't as big. I get one about every three to four months and instead of them being large like quarters they are small like marbles now and they aren't painful anymore, just ugly and annoying. If you are interested in trying it check out my website. Since trying their products I have started to sell the product becuase it has worked wonders on my body not just my boils, but I've noticed so many other changes with my body as well. I'm 36, have two children and I love what the products are doing for me especially my boils and scars. www.tveldt.itworks.net.

  • I can't believe how many other people have this!! I am 17 years old and I have been struggling with the same thing the Lyzi described since I was 14 years old. It's so painful that I am sometimes unable to run at soccer practice becase it hurts so bad. They get raw and pus and it's just painful and GROSS. Lucky, it hasn't spread to my armpits (knock on wood!!) People have told me to not shave and to wear looser clothes, but it's hard to find loose clothes nowa days when you're 17! It's left dark purple scars behind and it's so embarrassing...I'm suppose to be getting a biopsy sometime. I knnow I don't have herpes or anything like that. It's been going on for so long and I'm tired of having to deal with it. It's so painful and gross. I'm afraid to date anyone at the fear of (if) we ever do anything, they'll think I have an STD or something like that. I don't wear bikini bottoms for swim suits anymore, I always wear shorts, because I'm afraid people will see. I'm not sure what to do and they hurt no matter what I do. Do you guys know anything I can do to ease the pain for now?

  • i am writing this crying my heart out,i am a 40yo woman who has been suffering from this condition since my mid 20s,my main problem area has always been my pubic region, particually around my clitoros and in my groin,i too get large pus filled lumps that are so painful until they burst, then weeks of filling back up with the foulest smelling pus,(sorry to be so descriptive)this over the years has been for me the most embarrasing, soul destroying, humiliating thing ever to have happened to me,i have been married now for 22years,neither my husband, family or any body else knows i suffer from this, just the thought of them knowing makes me want to curl up and die,in my thirties i went to my gp and was told without any tests that i had a std,how do you go home and explain to your husband of then 12 yrs that i have a std???,luckly i never i booked into a private clinic and had every std test availible all results came back as i expected, clear! any way thats enough of my life story, but what id like to ask you all is do you find that outbreaks can be brought on by deppression/low moods/stress???its just that i was diagnosed with depression around the same time this condition started, once my depression was under control i saw less and less outbreaks,as i got older life has been kinder and i have had 1 out break in 2 yrs, until a few months ago when my job started to really get me down and i started feeling very low,now at the moment i have abscesses back, can any one else relate to out breaks around the same time as not feeling yourself????my heart truley goes out to each and every one of you,i wish i could hug you all, bless you

  • To everyone experiencing problems with what seems like cysts/boils/zits/etc. in your armpits, under your beasts, on your thighs and in the anogenital areas with no diagnosis from doctors, PLEASE know you are not alone. Look up a condition called "Hidradenitis Suppurativa".Many of us who have this disease have gone YEARS without a diagnosis until we found a doctor that is familiar with the disease or until we found it out on our own and then had our diagnosis professionally confirmed. I personally went over a decade without a diagnosis from a doctor. I only found out what it was called when I found it on the internet and had it confirmed by a knowledgeable dermatologist in my area.Getting the word out on this disease is important so others don't go years (or decades!) wondering what is wrong with no help from the uninformed in the dermatological medical community. GOOD LUCK!

I have had this issue for 10 plus years. The only way to get rid of these ugly beasts is surgery. Please see a dermatologist to get the help you need. I have had 6 surgeries so far....under both armpits, under both of my breasts, inside both thighs and groin area. There are many support groups for this disease and yes, it is a rare skin disease. There is no known cure but to have them surgically removed. Hormones of women, sugars and stress can make these nasty boils come back over and over again. Antibiotics and creams help somewhat, but it still comes back.

  • I use to get these all the time under my arms and I have scars, red purple, and pain. I started using coconut oil as a deodorant I read about it on Pinterest I thought I would try anything to see if it would help I have had no more breakouts. all the discoloration is gone you can still see um a little scarring but the colors gone so it's not noticeable if you happened to lift your arm for something quickly. so you just buy it in the grocery store by the cooking oil it's been a solid form so you just put a little on your armpit and under your breast if you need you can on dust on a little bit of cornstarch I also use a little bit of essential oil for scent. this has truly been a lifesaver I've been in pain for about 6 years with these it's embarrassing and you can't wear anything that shows your armpits when you swim or go out in public I have been to doctors dermatologist and nobody's been able to help but this really works. I know that must be that have this would try anything to get rid of it so please try and I let me know if that works at has been a lifesaver for me I'm trying to attach a picture so you can see but it won't let meI keep getting an error message but you'll just have to trust me. try it for 1 week at least I noticed a difference right away but now that it's been longer I've noticed that my skin is softer under their the scarring is minimal and any residual hardness or cyst areas are gone. I hope this helps even 1 person thanks for reading.

I need help!!!! please somone =Good News!!!!!I am a former nurse who began having boil eruptions 15 years ago following a period in which I was caring for patient who had these. I personally know the pain and embarrassment that comes with this illness. For years I have tried various treatments and at one point had surgery to remove a boil that was extremely large. I was free of them for a year after the surgery and had hoped that was the end of them but no, they did return. Antibiotic Therapy would temporarily clear them up but they would return within 4 to 6 weeks. I tried home remedies of Epson Salt Baths 3 times a week, Tea Tree oil to the affected area - these measures did help for a period but then lost their effectiveness. Six months ago I became very ill with a kidney infection. I was placed on antibiotic therapy for six weeks, at the time I had five eruptions of the boils. They did go away during the therapy but returned a month after the antibiotics ended. I did some research and found a medical study which indicated 3 factors contributing to this skin disease: a genetic predisposition, poor hygiene and poor nutrition. Well I couldn't do anything about the first, and the second is not a factor for me as I have excellent hygiene and believe that bleach is my friend, but the third - poor nutrition - that I did feel could certainly be a main cause for myself. My nutritional diet has never been great. So I started a supplement regimen 3 months ago. 500mg Vitamin C twice a day, 520 mg Iron once a day, Calcium 500mg once a day, Magnesium 250 mg once a day, Vitamin D 200 IU. This is not a multivitamin, I am taking those specific supplements. I've had NO eruptions for the last 90 Days - NONE. This is the first time in years that I've been free of them for this long of a period, except following the surgery. I recommend anyone suffering from these to try the dietary supplementation - it certainly can't hurt. I also recommend replacing intimate apparel at least once a year; washing undergarments and sheets with hot water and bleach, keeping your bath fixtures scrubbed with bleach; and using a very strong antibiotic soap in the areas prone to the infection. Note Phisoderm did not help me. Tight fitting clothing can lead to heat/sweat in the area and should also be avoided. Wishing best of luck to you.

  • Ive had this exact same problem since i was 3 im 23 now. Doctors always say the same things to me also. What does help is always keeping them dry, you can put iodine on them, take bleach baths and do warm compresses frequently. I was embarrased for a long time but now i just own it you cant change it, my boyfriend is very understanding and has never had any problems with it. I also noticed that when you tan they dry out i never have them during summer if ii tan

  • I had a similar issue. I found out that dairy products actually were doing it to me. Once I decreased/stopped eating and drinking things that have dairy the issues are slowly going away, and I feel way better.
It could also be something that you are putting into your body that is giving it a hard time so it is trying to get rid of it so it is breaking out.
    I hope this helps.

  • I had the same issue & I noticed that when I ate or drank dairy products it would get worse. I stopped eating dairy & it is getting a better. I don't have pain anymore, the bruises & holes are going away. I'm not saying what you have is what I have but I would try changing your diet and see what happens. It helped me a lot.
People tend to forget that what we put in our bodies have to go somewhere... & if our body has a allergy to something, it is going to react in different ways.
From what I have learned, there is not too many people that know about the issue I was having... So I tried to pay attention to my body.
I noticed it because one day my armpit wasn't hurting... Then I ate something with dairy in it & it started acting up so I stopped eating dairy for a bit & it slowly started going away. I had this issue for years & I was even thinking that it was being caused by the yeast infection that wouldn't go away no matter I did But now that is even going away.
    God bless. <3
