Who exactly is responsible for the clitoris?

I have some questions about the clitoris that for the life of me I haven't been able to find answers to.

What branch of medicine is responsible for the clitoris?
How would someone map the nerves of the clitoris in a particular person?
How would someone map the legs and body of the clitoris?
Would the clitoris fall under urology or gynecology?
Is anyone aware of a procedure to dissect the entire clitoris (body and legs) while maintain full sensation?

Hopefully someone will be able to answer some of my questions.

  • I think it would fall under gynecology, though I doubt you'll find much information on mapping nerves to the clitoris from your average gyno. You'd be better off talking to a surgeon with experience in assignment surgeries since this is something they would be studying, dealing with, etc. I would think dissecting it without losing sensation would be impossible. One doctor you could probably ask by email is Christine McGinn. She is MTF. She has an email link on her website. http://drchristinemcginn.com/
