Hello, I hope you can help me.Two and a half years ago I gave birth to my son but had a third degree tear after rotational forceps were used.My scar is still sore and lumpy, but the main problem is that my vagina seems to trap air, especially after urination.I am finding this problem very distressing and uncomfortable and my Gynae con is lovely, but doesnt know what to do, other that oil the scar and stretch it.has anyone else had this ?

Thanks xx

  • You should be examined to see if you have a fistula (a hole in your upper vagina). It is possible that you are actually expelling intestinal gas through your vagina. If you don't go to a doctor, you could get a severe infection. If you ever get diarrhea the liquid stool can actually come from your vagina. The fistula can come from an infection you might have had, unknowingly, at the time of your baby's birth.
