Hi

Our baby was stillborn 3 months, I had passed on CMV.

Does anyone know the chances of the next baby also contracting CMB before birth?

Also how long do people wait to try again after a death inutero of CMV?

Thanks

Sam

  • after a miscarriage you should wait three months to start trying again.you did not have a still born you would still be considered a miscarriage.CMV can cause deafness, mental retardation, and seizures. This virus you will have forever it just becomes dormant and could come back anytime. This dosnt make you dirty or anything cause about to 58-85 percent of woman will test positive for having this virus were you having multiple partners while you were pregnant? or was your partner, just because CMV is passed from person to person just because CMV is part of the Herpes virus (such as clod sores, chicken pox, and genital warts) and it is passed from saliva, cervical mucous, semen, blood and breast milk.you really need to talk to your OB/GYN and ask them when it will be safe for you to have another baby, they should be able to test and see when the virus is dormant and then it would be safe to have a baby in that time period and also ask about any kind of antibiotics avail for this virus
